Information for Mothers

We want to hear your story!
Sharing your story may help other women & children
who are involved with a Hague Case

We want to hear your story to better understand your experiences. We know that some mothers who flee to the U.S. from another country have been wrongfully accused of abducting their children under this Convention. The court may end up separating mothers from their children. In some cases, children are returned to an abusive partner overseas. We are interested in hearing from you if you were involved with a Hague case, regardless of what the outcome was in your situation.

Our goal in this research is to help lawyers, judges, and advocates learn how to better ensure the safety of women and children who come before them in these kinds of cases. Although it may be hard to talk with someone you don’t know about your situation, we hope that you will consider taking part in this research. Sharing your story could help other women in the future who may be involved with a case under the Hague Convention.
